Genesis 5:28: "Lamech lived one hundred and eighty two years and had a son. (Vs.29) And he called his name Noah, saying 'This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.'"

Noah's name refers to the reversal of the curse, found in earlier chapters of Genesis.

Genesis 6:9: Noah was a just man who walked with God. He was told by God to build an ark... so he did. He and his family were saved, from the great flood.

Read more about this just man in Genesis chapters 6-10.
