How do you get others to respond to constructive criticism (Prov. 29:19)?
Proverbs 29:19-21 New English Translation 19 A servant cannot be corrected by words, for although he understands, there is no answer. 20 You have seen someone who is hasty in his words— there is more hope for a fool than for him. 21 If someone pampers his servant from youth, he will be a weakling in the end.

It seems to me that people would be much more likely to respond positively to such criticism from someone with whom they are already on friendly terms, or whom they perceive as having their best interests at heart, or at least being able to maintain objectivity about them. The finding of something positive about the person concerning which they can be complimented or praised would therefore seem to be a necessary precursor, as well as maintaining a tactful manner in the delivery of comments to the individual. Although it is not specifically biblically-based, I also believe that How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age (an updated version of the original classic book by Dale Carnegie that is fully viewable online) can also be of assistance in that regard. Do a Google search on "how to win friends and influence people in the digital age.pdf" to locate that version.
