1 Peter 3:19: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison.

When Jesus died on the cross, He cried out in a loud voice to the Father and said, "Into thy hands I commend my Spirit!" And having said thus “He gave up the ghost.” (Lk 23:46) The Spirit of the Lord Jesus came out from the body, and went and preached unto the spirits in prison who were guarded by Satan and his fallen angels, just as Moses and Joshua clothed with filthy garments, Satan disputing and having railing accusation against them who were standing before the angels of God. (Zec 3:1/Jude 1:9/Nub 27:14)

Lord Jesus arose in a glorified body, one that was incapable of dying, and opened the graves of those who were bound. Just as Joshua stood with his filthy garments, the Lord preached unto the spirits to take away their filthy garments, for He had caused their iniquity to pass away and to clothe them with a change of garment that was preached unto the spirits. (Zec 3:4) For then many bodies of the saints who slept arose and came out of the graves and went into the holy city and appeared unto many. (Mat 27:52-53)

For every soul that has to be saved, when they die, they shall rise from the dead and be as the angels which are in heaven. (Mark 12:25/Eccl 12:7) As Jesus said to the men on His side who were crucified, “Today you will be with me in heaven.” The Spirit of the Lord Jesus then came back into the tomb where the angels guarded His body, and He arose and appeared in the room and stood among His disciples. He showed Himself and ate with them who were then amazed and then went up in their presence into Heaven to sit in the right hand of His Father who sent Him.

Psalm 16:10: For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy one to see corruption.
