Being shy can be a manifestation of pride just as behaviors that attempt to gain selfish attention. The one who parks his new car up front to be seen is as guilty of pride as the one who hides his old car out back. We have to measure our own tendencies against God's Word. Usually what comes "natural" to our own personality requires regular crucifixion.
