I would say that the primary roles of a Sunday school teacher (especially with relation to children) would be to act as a model of Christian behavior and of the specific love of Christ toward children (as indicated in Matthew 19:13-15, Mark 10:13-16, and Luke 18:15-17); to accurately convey the teachings of Scripture to them in a manner that they can understand (i.e., that is appropriate to their age and comprehension level); to answer their questions to the best of their ability; and to instill in them a love of their own for God and the Bible that will provide a basis for service to God during their entire future lives. This is especially true in light of the teacher being a primary (or perhaps even the only) spiritual influence in the child's life.
