How long did satan live on earth before he tempted Adam and Eve?

I don't believe this question is important to the redemptive-historical record of Scripture. It is a curious question that I think needs some direction.

God made all things from nothing and it was good. God had said "let us make man in our image". I believe part of that image is a certain understanding of sin so that we can truly understand the unity of love within the Trinity.

God does not author literal evil actions but He does allow it to happen and use it for His purpose. We don't know how Satan came to sin because it is not all that important. We are told how Adam and Eve sinned because it benefits us to know.

So, there is no question in my mind that Satan and certain angels were created with intention on them sinning. Same goes for Adam and Eve. All for the purpose of making man in the image of God. Knowing good and evil so that we have a deep and real understanding of Love.

Adam and Eve prior to sin had zero understanding of marital strife, pain, anger, hatred, wants and needs, death, sorrow, etc... Yet after sin they do. As Forrest Gump would say, "I know what love is". God, instead of killing them immediately for sin according to His law (Don't eat of this tree-was the law and-in the day you do it you shall surely die- is the result of breaking it). God didn't kill them. He provided GRACE. He killed an animal and clothed their shame. Just like the promise He gives Adam and Eve. He promised a Savior and that Savior was killed to cover the shame of His people. That was a display of true love for doing the will of the Father and for people who are disobedient.

So, regarding Satan and how long he was on earth. He fell from heaven by God's design in order to tempt Eve and cause Adam to sin along with her. The Bible doesn't address how long he was here prior to that because it is not important to the record. What I wrote to you is important to the record. Sin entered the world for a purpose.
