The rapture of the church is a separate event from the second coming of Jesus. At the rapture, we go to meet the Lord in the clouds.

1 Corinthians 15:51-53 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. Jesus comes back to earth at the end of the 7 year tribulation, and we will come back with Him.

Then the thousand year reign of Christ begins. There will be peace on the earth for a thousand years. Then Satan will be loosed and there will be a final battle. Then there will be a new heaven and a new earth. This earth will be destroyed.

We who are saved by faith alone in Jesus alone and are alive at the rapture will be transformed into the likeness of Jesus at His ascension to heaven. John 5:24. We will pass from death unto life.

According to the Bible, no human will be alive on earth during the 1000 years - only Satan and his evil angels will inhabit the earth (Jer 4:23-26). I believe God is giving Satan a 1000-year timeout to reflect on all the pain, destruction, and misery he had caused.

At the Second Coming, the dead in Christ will be raised and together with those who are alive will be taken to heaven to be with God for 1000 years (1 Thess 4:16, 17).

In addition, the wicked who are alive will be slain by God’s glory (Jer 25:33; 2 Thess 2:8; Rev 6:15-17; 19:21).

The Scripture says that after the Second Coming of Christ, there is a 1000-year time period, also called The Millennium, in which all believers are in heaven with God (Rev 20:4).
