When we sin, that small voice inside will bother us. But, when we pray to our Father, and admit our sin, God who loves us will understand. When we acknowledge that we need to repent, God will relieve our guilty conscience. God will forgive. He is faithful and just.

But we must remember, as in the story of David and Bathsheba, there are consequences for sin. (2 Samuel 12:13-20)

If we go to God, He helps us. God is our refuge and strength.

We need not be like a mule or a horse with no understanding.

We give God praise for His Love. He is always ready to hear, and to forgive when we repent to Him. Our joy is returned because His joy is manifested in our hearts.

When we try to deceive God and hide our sin, here is what happens:
1) our bones waste away
2) we groan all day long
3) Gods hand is heavy upon us day and night
4) our strength is sapped

When we choose to confess our sins to the Lord, here is what happens:
1) our transgressions are forgiven
2) our sin is covered
3) our sin is not counted against us
4) our spirit is free of deceit
5) God forgives the guilt of our sin
6) we are able to pray in faith again
7) God hears and answers our prayers
8) God is our hiding place
9) God protects us from trouble
10) God will celebrate our deliverance
11) God will instruct us and teach us in the way we should go
12) God will counsel us and keep his loving eye on us
13) the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds us
14) God fills our hearts with joy and gladness
15) God sees us as righteous, upright in heart

Our confession of sin is so important to God. Why? Because it restores our relationship with him. Hiding sin always causes unnecessary suffering in our lives and God wants us to avoid that.

Confessing our sin releases these 15 blessings into our lives to strengthen and deepen our relationship with God, to gives us the abundantly fulfilling and deeply satisfying life that Jesus promised. Why wouldn’t we want that every day?

Here’s the blessedness of his confession and the subsequent forgiveness received (Ps 32:1-2, 5): David describes his joy after he confessed his sins and received forgiveness. --

Ps. 32:1-2, 5 (A Psalm of David, Maschil):
1Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Blest is the man, forever blest,
Whose guilt is pardoned by his God;
Whose sins with sorrow are confessed,
And covered with his Savior’s blood.

Blest is the man to whom the Lord
Imputes not his iniquities;
He pleads no merit of reward,
And not on works, but grace relies. (Isaac Watts)
