Short answer: 1 John 4:8 says, “GOD IS LOVE.” I understand this to mean that Love is GOD. HE knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts (Hebrews 4:12); because of this, He knows when and how often we demonstrate and live in love. He doesn't have to figure things out like we do; HE doesn’t have to wonder if someone is sincere or lying, etc. HE KNOWS… He knew that woman may have done some things that were not right, but the love she demonstrated in her life outweighed her situation and covered a multitude of sins (1 Peter 1:8)
