The New World translation is a masterful translation to justify the Jehovah Witness doctrine. If you have this bible, you can justify your believes and actions for that Church. The Jehovah Witnesses are not a Christian Church. The main faults are they don't believe in the Trinity or that Jesus Christ is God. Just that will disqualify them from being Christians. I know that translation will keep some people from learning the real Truth.. That translation is not valid and deceive many. There are so many translations of the Bible lately, that now we have to be careful about the translation that we use and learn from,

I read that the NWT changes the original Greek word for giving "glory" to "obeisance" whenever referring to Jesus. This is in order to deny that Jesus is God. In Matthew 2:2, the NWT reads "For we saw his star when we were in the East, and we have come do do obeisance to him." Hebrews 1:6 rewords it to " But when he again brings his Firstborn into the inhabited earth he says, "And let all of God's angels do obeisance to him." Interesting, the word obeisance is only used in the New Testament of the NWT.

I would not describe the NWT itself as "masterful". Masterful might be what you call a leadership who constructs their own translation so that they might maintain power and influence.

I once confronted a JW regarding John 1:1. He then asked me if I had a Greek NT, to which I replied that I did and went to reach for it. Immediately, he decided that the time had come for the conversation to end. He didn't want to lose face in front of the novice with him. If the translation were masterful, there would be no risk. He knew the Greek did not support him.
