Not according to the bible. For we are appointed once to die, and after that the judgment. 

Only those who have trusted Jesus alone apart from works and received the free gift of eternal life by faith alone are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. 

Ephesians 1:13-14 Our guarantee of eternal life. Romans 8:9 Without the spirit of God there is no salvation.

John 6:47 Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. John 3:18 Believers are no longer condemned, but unbelievers are condemned already because they have not believed on the name of he Son of God.

In 1st Peter 4:6 it says:

For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.

We have narrowly come to think of the gospel only in relation to salvation through faith in Jesus, but the gospel also declares the LAW - God’s righteous judgment on all evil and wickedness in the world caused by our sin.

Every human being who has lived, lives now, and will live until Jesus comes again, is condemned for their sin and faces God’s white throne judgment (see Revelation 20) and will be sentenced to eternal punishment in hell.

Our only escape from this judgment is to throw ourselves on the mercy of God, repent of our sins and put our faith in Jesus to be our Saviour and Lord. Then God forgives all our sins and gives the righteousness of Christ, because he paid the price to set us free from God’s judgment. We are justified and accepted in God’s sight.

When Jesus came to earth as a human being, to become our saviour, there were 2 groups of dead people, 1) those Old Testament Saints who put their faith in God were resting in Abraham’s bosom, 2) the second group are all other people who rebelled against every opportunity God gave them to faith in Him - this group is locked and suffering in Hades until their white throne judgment. These truths are explained to us in the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus.

When Jesus died he descended into Hades to proclaim that he is the Saviour they rejected, and remind them all, that God’s white throne judgment awaits. He also spoke these words of judgment to the evil spirits (fallen angels) imprisoned there because they left their spirit domain and became the Nephilim, who all died in Noah’s flood, as explained in the book of Jude.

Jesus also went to Abraham’s bosom and brought all these righteous souls out of their graves and took them up to heaven with him. Many of these righteous souls were seen in Jerusalem before they ascended with Jesus.
