I see here a lot being said about what the bible says about sex before marriage. I can't find that phrase anywhere in the bible. I do see in the bible that sex outside of the boundary of the guidelines was to be punishable by stoning to death. If we are using the scriptures to promote our ideas of righteous living, are we willing to support the bible's correction for sexual immorality? Do we support the stoning of church members who violate the marriage principles, or who engage in sexual sin? If not, then we're talking out of both sides of our mouths. We either support the bible's literal correction for sexual sin or we don't.

I don't! If I had a son or a daughter who violated any of the sexual ordinances I wouldn't want them whipped, you can forget about stoning them to death! I don't think that's the way to clean the church.

But what about what the scriptures teach? The scriptures are as pure as gold. The scriptures teach us about God's love for us. He wants what's best for us. That's what I learn from the scriptures. The "stoning to death" scriptures teach me that sin, ANY SIN, carries with it a sentence of death!

I believe many people in "the world" live lives more free from bondage to the law than many live who are part of the church. They understand their dependence on God's grace better than do some church members. They are prayerful about their weakness in the flesh. They make no attempt to fool themselves the way many do who are in the church.
