To me, the portion of the cited psalm that speaks most directly to the subject of how to appropriate God's blessing is Psalm 34:12-14, which advises avoiding the speaking of lies and other evil speech; doing good rather than evil; and seeking and pursuing peace.

We can appropriate God's blessings when we seek Him (Psalm 34:4, 10*), cry out to Him (Ps 34:6, 17), trust Him (Ps 34:8**), fear Him (Ps 34:7,9***), refrain from lying (Ps 34:13 as mentioned by Mr. Maas), turn from evil, do good and seek peace (34:14 ****Mr. Maas mentioned Ps 34:13-14),
are humble (Ps 34:18*****), and serve Him (Ps 34:22*****). LASB

*Psalm 34:10, an East Delavan Baptist Church memory verse, says, "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing." I.e. God will meet all our needs.

**Psalm 34:8 says, "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." -- Do this and God will meet the righteous' needs. (Ps 34:8-10) HW

***Psalm 34:7 has, "The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them." -- God's very presence had encamped around him. HW

**** Psalm 34:14 -- "Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." --
Do this, David or Anonymous proclaims, and God will grant the righteous long, good lives (Ps 34:11-15).

***** God will guard the righteous from their enemies (Ps 34:17-20, 22). HW
