If you read the story of Hagar and Ismael, you know the God of Abraham was also the God of Ismael. The Truth is that God saved them and blessed them. Well, in turn many generations later a man called Mohammad came, wrote a complete different book and invented a God of his own and even came up with false statements of whom God is.

This story from the Jewish Bible should be taught to the Muslims so they will know the Truth of their heritage and not the false doctrine of man. In as such, the Christian New Testament should follow why the old testament talked about the Messiah and that Jesus Christ was that Messiah that for filled all the Old Testament requirements and that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and that there is no other way to Eternal Life.

Then let the Holy Spirit do it's work of saving those that do not know the Truth of the Gospel. Jesus Christ is the key to witnessing to Muslims.

Here's what comes to my mind when I read a question like this: Acts: 1. 1. The first book I wrote, Theophilus, concerned all that Jesus began both to do and to teach, 2. until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. 8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth ".

I believe we are first and foremost to BE his disciples and to represent him as such. This means we follow his way. We do the things he did. We love even our enemies, we do good even to those who abuse us, we might even give our lives for the sake of our enemies.

The early church turned the world up side down, not by preaching Jesus but by being Jesus. To suppose that you need special knowledge to witness to any people group, I believe reveals our reliance on knowledge as the power to convert as opposed to the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. I am not saying that knowledge of the Word is unimportant. That knowledge should lead us to be people of the way; transformed actions informed by renewed minds.
