The bible is clear that God decides when every human being will come into existence (Jeremiah 1:5). He has determined beforehand the number of days that each person will live, and he knows the moment each of us will die (Job 14:5). See Psalm 139 for a detailed description of God's sovereignty over human creation. Our willingness as human beings to accept abortion of pregnancies stems from the lie we have believed that humans are simply the product of evolution. This lie tells us we are born by chance, we struggle to survive and thrive in this short life, and then we die, that's the end of our existence. The bible clearly teaches that humans are eternal spiritual beings, who will live forever. We will either live with God in his paradise or suffer for eternity in hell. See Revelation 19 to 22 for a complete description of our eternity destiny as believers or unbelievers. When it comes to difficult choices in life, like those described in this question, we cannot easily apply a general principle from the Word of God, because two human lives are at stake. Then it behoves us to pray and ask God to reveal his wisdom so we can make the decision that is in accordance with his will. If one human being is going to die, then it will be God who makes that decision, which is God's right as our sovereign creator.

The NLT says in 1 Samuel 2:6, "The Lord gives both death and life; he brings some down to the grave but raises others up." The context of Hannah's song is this: Her song (1 Samuel 2:1-11): In this remarkable prayer, Hannah praises the Lord for his holiness, his omniscience, his sovereignty [here in 1 Samuel 2:6], his compassion, and his justice. When a mother's life is at stake, who is to saved, the mother or the baby? The choice is between saving 1 life, the mother's or losing 2 lives, the mother's and the baby's lives.
