What does mourn/wail mean when Jesus returns?

Revelation 1:7

NKJV - 7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

For those who have been redeemed by faith in Christ, His visible return at the close of the present age is something that they await with great joy and anticipation. By contrast, however, the mourning and wailing mentioned in the verse cited in the question is that of the unsaved of all eras (specifically including those who were responsible for putting Jesus to death), who will realize when He returns that they are facing the final condemnation and everlasting punishment that await them for their rejection of Jesus.

When Jesus comes for the church, the body of Christ, He comes in the clouds and we go to meet Him in the air. He does not come back to earth, and those on the earth will not see Him.

We are just going to disappear. First Corinthians 15:51-53 and First Thessalonians 4:13-18.

When Jesus comes at the end of the 7 year tribulation period, every eye will see Him, and those that were not saved during the tribulation because they took the mark of the beast, Revelation 14:9-13 will weep and wail for the judgement that is coming on the earth for the unbelievers.

Much better to not go through the time of Jacob’s trouble, the tribulation period.

Accept Jesus’ free gift of eternal life by faith alone now, and go at the rapture of the church saved by grace through faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, not of works, (you can not earn it) lest any man should boast. You can not boast in free.

The day of grace will end at the rapture of the church. From the book of Acts to the rapture. John 5;24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE, and shall not come in to judgement, but is passed from death unto life.
