What did Paul mean when he wrote, "...indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to "separate" us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.?

What joined us to God's love in the first place? Was it not when we heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and BELIEVED it was true. That was the moment we truly experienced the love of God for the first time. God forgave all our sin, washing away all the guilt and shame, and he gave us the righteousness of Christ, we became clothed with Christ himself. He gave us the gift of eternal life, the very presence of his Holy Spirit to breathe life into our dead spirits, so we were born again. We became united with Christ. We are in Christ, seated at the right hand of God. Christ is in us, by his Holy Spirit, who is the promised seal, guaranteeing our inheritance. With this kind of spiritual union, we are able to experience the fullness of God's love in our bodies, souls and spirits, and nothing in all of creation can separate us from this love or break apart our union with God. This is great, good news!

It simply means that there exists no possible separation from the Savior (Romans 8:35-39): This entails both life and death (8:35-38a 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life…will ever be able to separate us from the love of God.) It also entails both angels and demons (Romans 8:38b –“… neither angels nor demons…will ever be able to separate us from the love of God. Also involved is “both present and future” (Romans 8:38c –NLT: ": “neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow”). Finally “both height and depth” are included in this exclusion (Romans 8:39—“No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”) “…both height and depth” … “nor things present, nor things to come” point to differences of times, height and depth to differences of places. We do not know, the number, magnitude, and variety of things comprehended in these words, and yet we do not fear them. Have you experienced divorce? Separation? These things cannot separate the believer from his/her Redeemer. Have you been fired from your job as I believe I had been once, on account of your faith in Christ? It cannot separate you from God’s love. Have you been deserted by a spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend due to your faith? Be encouraged that this cannot separate you from your Savior’s love for you!
