Will I still hold my profession in the new world and heaven?

Revelation 21:1 - 27

NKJV - 1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Our status in God's kingdom - whether by our earthly bodies now, our souls in heaven when we die, or our new glorified bodies in the new earth when Jesus comes again to restore all things - does not depend on our profession of faith, it depends on God's grace.

Ephesians 2:8-10 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do".

Our sincere profession from the heart proves and demonstrates that our belief in Jesus is sincere and we have been saved by God. Faith in this belief is a gift from God who convinces us that we can trust his promises with our very lives. The good works that flow from this genuine faith also prove and demonstrate that we have been saved by God and inherit all his promises.

These verses in Revelation show us the fulfillment of all God's promises and how we will receive our inheritance. At that point, no faith will be required because we will be living in the very presence of God.

If the questioner (who is identified as an evangelist in his eBible profile) is asking about his earthly profession/occupation (rather than his profession of faith), I would say that evangelism will no longer need to be practiced in the new world or heaven because the inhabitants of them at that time will have already heard and received the gospel message, their eternal status will have been settled, and there will be no further need to bring people to faith. (Indeed, the redeemed will eternally be in the very presence of Him who is the subject of the gospel message.)

It would also not be consistent with the Bible's teaching that it is necessary to accept Christ during one's earthly life in order to be saved (2 Corinthians 6:2).
