How can I justify evolution of man with God creating man?

I have considered Genesis 2:7 as a possible solution. "Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being". Could this mean that God used the evolutionary process "to form man from the dust of the ground" and evolve him to a point where he then gave him a soul by "breathing life into him?"

Genesis 2:7

ESV - 7 Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.
