What are some of the precious promises of God to the believer?

TPT
As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world.

I.e. these would have to be the promised blessings of the Lord.

2 Peter 1:4

ESV - 4 By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

The greatest promise of God is John 3:18. Believers can no longer be condemned to hell. Our sin debt is paid by the one blood sacrifice of Jesus for the penalty of all sin. First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world.

That makes John 3:16 true. For God so loved the world, that HE gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that WHOSOEVER, believeth in Him, should not perish but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. Jesus said it, I believe it, and that settles it. I am a WHOSEVER, therefore I have eternal life.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, and we all die, but the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE, through Jesus' finished work on the cross alone.

I have received a great many gifts in my life time. I will be 80 this year if the Lord tarries, but the greatest gift I have ever received is the free gift of eternal life. Nothing could ever compare to that GIFT I received by faith alone in Jesus alone apart from any works. Romans 4:5

I trusted Jesus as my savior 73 years ago. I have committed a lot of sins over my life time I am sure, but Jesus paid for them all. First John 1:10 If we say we have not sinned, we call God a liar. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Romans 11:6 AMAZING GRACE, JESUS PAID IT ALL AND I PAID 0. The GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE. If I could have done one thing that would save me, then Jesus died in vain. Galatians 2:21. He did not die in vain, He gave me eternal life.

To me, the promises spoken of by Peter would most notably include forgiveness of sin; spiritual peace, strength, comfort, and support (from God, God's word, and other believers) in times of earthly trial; and eternal life (both as a present possession, as well as an endless existence in God's presence in glorified bodies, free from any of the adverse effects of sin in this world).

The bible is filled with hundreds of promises of God. We often miss them because we read the bible without asking the Holy Spirit to open our spiritual eyes to see all these wonderful promises..

Two of my favourite psalms that contain many promises from God are Psalm 37 and Psalm 91. I have summarized these promises below and rephrased each verse to state what HE (God) has done, is doing or will do for us.

Psalm 37
HE enables us to dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture as we trust in him and do good; HE gives us the desires of our hearts as we take delight in him; HE will make our righteous reward shine like the dawn as we commit our way to him and trust in him.

HE will make our vindication shine like the noonday sun as we commit our way to him and trust in him; HE will destroy those who are evil and give his land as an inheritance to us who hope in him.

HE enables us to give generously; HE blesses us and gives us an inheritance in his land; HE makes our steps firm because we delight in him; HE will not let us fall for he upholds us with his hand.

HE never forsakes meeting our daily needs; HE enables us to always be generous and lend freely; HE enables us to do good and dwell in the land forever; HE loves us and will not forsake us his faithful ones.

HE gives us the land as our inheritance and we will dwell in it forever; HE enables us to utter wisdom and to speak what is just; HE puts his law in our hearts so our feet will not slip; HE will not leave us in the power of the wicked or let us be condemned when brought to trial.

HE will exalt us to inherit the land; HE will let us see it when the wicked are destroyed; HE is our stronghold in time of trouble; HE will help us and deliver us from the wicked and save us because we take refuge in him.

Psalm 91
HE will let us dwell in His shelter and rest in His shadow; HE is our refuge and our fortress; HE is our God in whom we trust; HE will save us from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence; HE will cover us with his feathers and under his wings we will find refuge.

HE is faithful to be our shield and rampart; HE will not let us fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, for it will not come near us; HE will not let us fear the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday, for it will not come near us.

HE will let us observe with our eyes and see the punishment of the wicked; HE will allow no harm that will overtake us, nor any disaster that will come near our tents, because the Lord is our refuge and the Most High is our dwelling.

HE will command his angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways; HE will command his angels to lift us up in their hands, so that we will not strike our foot against a stone; HE will enable us to tread on the lion and the cobra; we will trample the great lion and the serpent.

HE will rescue us and protect us because we love Him and we acknowledge His name; HE will answer us when we call on Him; HE will be with us in trouble; HE will deliver us and we will honor him; HE will satisfy us with long life and will show us His salvation.

These are just two examples. The bible is filled with the promises of God which is such great news.

God expressed this love in a wonderful way. He could not make man a partaker of the divine nature until His only begotten Son, One equal with Himself, should stoop to human nature and reach man where he was. God did not withhold His Son. In Christ humanity touched humanity, while divinity laid hold upon humanity. In Him man becomes a child of God, an heir to all the treasures of heaven.

He invites us, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me,... and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” [Matthew 11:28-30]

The Lord invites us to ask of Him of the great divine gift which Jesus promised us, the Holy Spirit. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 11:13

Before the humblest is opened the promises of the Word of God. God declares, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.” [James 1:5.] He will never be sent away empty.

Promises are estimated by the truth of the one who makes them. Many men make promises only to break them, to mock the heart that trusted in them. Those who lean upon such men lean upon broken reeds. But God is behind the promises He makes. He is ever mindful of His covenant, and His truth endureth to all generations. “Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promises which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.”
[1 Kings 8:56.]

My favorite promise right now is that God Protects--
Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Promises to the righteous, expressed or implied-- Psa. 91:1, 3-7, 9-12 Our pastor at East Delavan Baptist Church had us memorize this whole psalm (Psalm 91:1-16). Isn't this just what we need during the coronavirus, 2020?

My second favorite about God's protection comes from Psalm 121:5 "The LORD watches over you- the LORD is your shade at your right hand"; Psa. 121:3-8 A promise to the righteous [NAVE], " My pastor had our church memorize this verse recently, 1 verse a week, and then the whole thing at once, as I recall (Psalm 121)

Promises of God
Follow this topic on Scripture Memory Fellowship, including 32 verses on God's promises.

The Bible is like a checkbook: it's full of promises we can take to the bank! I love listening to "Faith's Checkbook" on the radio! As Charles Spurgeon writes, these promises are to be treated "as a reality, as a man treats a check. He is to take the promise, and endorse it with his own name by personally receiving it as true." This collection includes some of Scripture's most precious promises to encourage you in every season of life.

"Soldiers who to Christ belong,
Trust ye in His Word, be strong.
For His promises are sure,
His rewards for *aye endure." -- a hymn

*aye = always, forever
