The first thing I would do is pray because there is no easy answer. My prayer would be that God would help me to be discerning about the situation. The reality is that our country currently has, has always had, and will always have, those living among us who are here illegally according to current law. Should the US Congress decide to change those laws, then the definition of who is illegal will change. The second thing I would ask is, are they here working? Are they with family? Or, are they committing crimes? Obviously, if they are committing crimes - other than the question of immigration - then I would report the specific crime (not immigration). Leviticus 19:33-34 says: When a foreigner resides with you in your land, you must not oppress him. You must treat the foreigner living among you as native-born and love him as yourself, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God. "love him as yourself" There are only (4) times that the Bible uses the phrase "And you shall love..." (2) times are in Deuteronomy and the object is to love God (Deut. 6:5 and Deut. 11:1). The other (2) times are in Leviticus 19. First, "And you shall love your neighbor as yourself" Lev. 19:18. The second is the verse quoted above concerning the foreigner among you (Lev. 19:34). One way we can interpret these (4) verses together is that to "love God" is to "love the one created in God's image." I would err on the side of mercy. God has a particular heart for those who are living away from their home country (Ex. 23:9). If this person were doing something illegal - committing crimes, and you know exactly that they are doing it, and that another person's life may be in danger - then you can move to Lev. 19:16: "You must not endanger the life of your neighbor. I am the LORD." In this case, you would be protecting the life of the hypothetical third party. There is a lot to discern. I am not in favor of "illegal immigration" as such, but I am in favor of discernment, dignity, and mercy to our fellow human beings. I do not envy the situation that many in poor and corrupt countries find themselves born into. In my opinion, the worst of God's judgment is going to be for those in political positions who are releasing "known criminals" who also happen to be here illegally back into our society for POLITICAL reasons. They are the ones who are truly perverting justice. And they are the ones who are "knowingly" placing others in danger (see Lev. 19:16).

I humbly submit that there are many unknown issues present in this anonymous post. That said the number one duty is to protect yourself or those in your charge from any threats, regardless of it's source. (Habakkuk 1:4; Proverbs 22:3; Luke 16:8) A criminal justice system exists to protect people and property. We already know that in certain cities in our land, the criminal justice system no longer protects it's people. However, it’s not just cities with this problem anymore. There are whole states like California where the government has withdrawn its protection from it's law-abiding citizens. Example what is still ILLEGAL by federal statutory laws; now has the state's blessings via it's illegal sanctuary policies. (Ecclesiastes 10:2; 1 Samuel 8:3; John 7:24) The reality is that civic law enforcement seldom tries to investigate or prosecute misdemeanors. It’s too much effort for too small an ultimate consequence for the malefactor. This is especially true, when the prosecutors have leftist ideas about what constitutes justice. And in many instances actively prosecute those who endeavor to do what is right and lawful. Which is LAWFARE using the law to litigate one into subjugation, thus helping to get their mind right. As true born-again Christians we should always be respectful and obedient to the law of the land. Therefore, if I were to learn of an illegal alien residing in my country, I should report him or her to the authorities to be properly processed. Jesus demonstrated this law in reference to taxes, who should pay them (everyone) and to whom they should be paid (in His disciples’ case, Caesar (the governor of that land). The United States’ rule of law requires that all people who desire to reside here, coming from any foreign country, must enter in at specific points legally to become citizens of this great country. To harbor anyone illegally, as is the case in most “sanctuary cities”, would be tantamount to assisting many who may be murderers, rapists, drug dealers or the like who often are released back into society to recommit those same crimes. Therefore, my advice to you would be to contact the authorities nearest you to handle this matter.
