The clearest indication to me of the significance of Christ's resurrection for Christians is found in Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 15:12-34.

For Christians, Christ's resurrection is everything. It shows that there is eternal life beyond our brief time in this fallen world, with its inevitable disappointments, illnesses, and opposition or even persecution from the unsaved. As Paul said, if there is nothing else beyond this life, then Christians are the most to be pitied of anyone.

However, because of Christ's resurrection, and the completed redemption from sin to which it testified, Christians have not only the hope, but the certainty, of living forever in God's presence, which is greater than any temporal benefit that this life and world can offer. And they also have the ability to offer that same benefit to anyone else through the sharing of the gospel -- the same "good news" through which they themselves have gained eternal life by faith -- so that as many people as possible can be saved.

(What is the significance of the resurrection?)

1 The Proof of Christ’s Deity, Rom. 1:4

1. To Christ. 
(a. IT PROVED HIM TO BE THE SON OF GOD, i.e. it emphasizes the 
deity of Christ, Acts 10:40; Romans 1:4) -- St. Paul in Ro 1:4 said, "[Jesus] was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,"

b. IT CONFIRMED THE TRUTH OF ALL HE SAID, at least of all He said about His resurrection (Matt. 28:6) --At Christ's empty tomb, an angel said to the two Marys, "He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay."

2. To all men.

a. It verifies the resurrection of all (1 Cor. 15:20-22) --Paul said in the "Resurrection Chapter (1 Corinthians 15), "But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive."

b. It verifies the coming judgment (Acts 17:31) --" because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”

3. To believers.

a. It gives assurance of our acceptance with God (Rom. 4:25). --Paul said, "[Jesus our Lord]... was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." See below.

b. It guarantees power for service (Eph. 1:19-22) or, expanding, it guarantees present-day power and strength (Eph. 1:18-2:10). This power is not referring to power He gives us before we're saved. We don't have any. B.C. (Before Christ), for more than 15 years I ran away from God as fast as my sins could carry me. That was my part. But God took out after me and ran me down. That was His part. True salvation and resurrection power marks the beginning of His lordship over the Church (Eph. 1:19-23). I.e. it designates Christ as Head of the Church (Eph. 1:19-22).

c. It guarantees the believer’s resurrection (2 Cor. 4:14). --In this second epistles to the Christians at Corinth, the Apostle writes, "he who raised the Lord Jesus a will raise us also with Jesus and b bring us with you into his presence."

2 The Pledge of our justification, Rom. 4:24,25 (IT GIVES ASSURANCE OF 
ACCEPTANCE WITH GOD. It guarantees our justification (Rom. 4:24).

3 The Pattern of new life in Christ, Rom. 6:4,5,9

4 The Power for the expression of that life, Rom. 7:4

5 The Promise of our resurrection, Rom. 8:11 --

6 The Provision for our peace of mind, Rom. 8:34 -- "Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died - more than that, who was raised - who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us."

7 The Profession of our faith for salvation, Rom. 10:9 -- "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

The significance of the resurrection is that it was the birth of the Christian faith.

When Jesus talked of his resurrection nobody believed him, including his own disciples.This is why Peter and six others went back to to their old profession of fishing after the crucifixion of Christ, after which the resurrected Christ appeared to them as described in John 21. Two other disciples were sad, distraught and totally hopeless over Jesus' death on their way back to Emmaus when the resurrected Jesus joined them on the journey. (Mark 6:16)

Thus the resurrection was the proof that Jesus was truly the Son of God and that his teachings were truly from God. If Jesus had not been resurrected as he had prophesied, he would have been a liar and there would be no Christianity today.

I believe that Hosea 6:1-2 is a prophecy of the resurrection of Christ. In the NKJV it reads as follows: "Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. 2. After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight."

Jesus spoke about His resurrection in the second chapter of the gospel according to John. In the following verses. 2:19 Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
2:22 says: Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

Matthew 28 is the fulfillment of that which was spoken by the Prophet Hosea and what Jesus had spoken to His disciples.

I can testify to the truth of what the Apostle John said in 20:31: "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name."

Finally, I believe that the Holy Spirit is showing us that we can wholeheartedly trust in His promises; for it is evident that His Word is the truth and will surely come to pass!
