Suffering can be used to build you up. Look at Romans 5:3-4. Suffering produces perseverance, which in turn builds you up in other key areas. Suffering is also something you must be willing to endure as a Christian. Jesus says in Matthew 16:24: “If anyone should come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.” If you want to be a disciple of Christ, you must be willing to suffer as He did. There are many reasons why God allows us to suffer.
