What will be different when the old order of things has passed away? (Revelation 21:4)
Revelation 21:4 King James Version (KJV) 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The fulfillment prophecies of Isaiah 65:17; 66:22; and 2 Peter 3:13. This creation will pass away. The New Jerusalem will become a reality. There will be no more separation. The marriage of The Lamb and the Bride of Christ will occur. God will once again dwell with His people. All things will become new. Believers will be sons and daughters forever. Righteousness will dwell according to His promise!

I would say that, as described in the verse cited in the question, such aspects of life in this present, fallen world as death, sorrow, crying, and pain will no longer exist because sin (the root cause of all those features), which Christ defeated by His death and resurrection, will have been fully and permanently done away with, and those who have been redeemed by faith in Him will live (as God originally intended) in perfect harmony with one another; with their physical environment (which will no longer be corrupted); and with Him, who will dwell with them in their midst (Revelation 21:3). There will be no further possibility of another fall because the redeemed will have finally attained the state of willing, eternal perfection to which they began to aspire when they first came to Christ and started to be transformed to His image by the indwelling Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 5:18). By contrast, the unredeemed will no longer be present, but will exist eternally in a separate realm where, as Jesus described, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:40-43).
