What is this coming wrath? (1 Thessalonians 1:10)

7 And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9 for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

1 Thessalonians 1:10

ESV - 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

The wrath of God is to come on the world through the 7 year tribulation period. All believers during the church age will not go through the time of Jacobs trouble, the tribulation.

First Thessalonians 4:13-18. Is our blessed hope for those who have believed in Jesus as the only way of salvation. Then we will be caught up to meet the Lord in the clouds at the end of the church age. The day of grace. We are to comfort one another with these words.

And first Corinthians 15:51-53 Some of us will not die and will be changed in the twinkling of an eye to our new transformed bodies that will be like His body when He was transfigured at His return to heaven.

So we will be taken out of the world to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air before the wrath of God comes on the world through the great and terrible day of the Lord. The Tribulation. Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit in whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. The day of redemption is the rapture or catching away of those who have trusted Jesus without works to be taken out before the tribulation period begins.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.

We are saved by faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing. Jesus did all the saving and all we have to do is believe it one time to be saved forever. John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that BELIEVETH on me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. Jesus plus nothing equals salvation by grace.

John 3:18 Believers can never be condemned again, but unbelievers are under the wrath of God because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God. It is by faith alone without works. Romans 11:6 and Romans 4:5.
