What I have found in my studying of God’s Word is that we must go back to the beginning. The symbolism used in the Old Testament repeats itself in the New Testament. We know that God has an original language that He confused at the Tower of Babel. In order to be able to understand God’s original language, we need to study the origin of the Hebrew language. When God breathed His Word into writing He used symbols. As I have begun to try to have a deeper understanding of who God is, I am amazed at the deeper impact and understanding of Him by studying Hebrew. There are many sources on this subject and I pray you give it much thought after going to Him in prayer!

Is the question asking about imagery or metaphors used in the Bible in speaking of the concept of divine judgment (such as in the verses cited in the question), or is it asking about the various actual means that God used in executing judgment against people or nations (as in the case, for example, of the choice of punishments (plague; military defeat by enemies; famine) presented to David in 2 Samuel 24 after his sin of ordering a census of Israel?
