Why was the body of Jesus gone after the resurrection?
Why would his body be gone if it is our soul that transcends to heaven?
Matthew 28:1 - 20
NKJV - 1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

Thank you for the responses. So if our bodies are in “sleep mode” until the resurrection, I am confused as to are our bodies resurrected as Christ was? And if so, what if one is cremated upon death?

I myself believe that there isn't anything to be concerned about, William.
God can do anything! You have heard that there are lost tribes from Israel. God knows exactly where each person is and which tribe they are from. Remember they were scattered across the world. When the time is right, the tribes will be reunited. Israel will be reunited as a single country
God knows every single hair on your body. It is not a problem for Him to place every cell of your body back together. It will be instant, and glorious. See you in heaven one day!
