When Jesus decided to go to the cross to redeem man from the curse of the law, was there any full-proof guarantee that man was going to repent and surrender to him?

God gave man the right to choose in the garden of Eden and man has always had that right. So were there any assurances that man would repent after the cross?

Matthew 27:32 - 44

AMP - 32 As they were marching forth, they came upon a man of Cyrene named Simon; this man they forced to carry the cross of Jesus. 33 And when they came to a place called Golgotha [Latin: Calvary], which means The Place of a Skull.
