Why did Jesus say Satan will fall from heaven like lightning when research shows that lightning starts at the ground and goes to the sky?
Luke 10:1 - 42
NKJV - 1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

"Will fall”? That's not what he said, to start; he said he saw him fall... I think he meant it as an analogy, not as a scientific acknowledgment about how lightning is generated.
He could have said Satan fell like a rock, or a sack of potatoes, or that he saw him drop like a bad habit, and it would have had the same intended meaning, I believe. It means he fell fast. Lightning is faster than the list I used so it makes a more cogent point of how devastating the fall was for Satan.
Jesus wasn't trying to make a scientific statement that would have to stand up in court!
Why did Jesus even say this about Satan? It was because the disciples returned from being sent to preach, and they were rejoicing that the demons they had encountered had no power over their ministry. So Jesus said what he said about Satan. He was telling his disciples that Satan had lost his edge, that he is all bluster.
