What is the significance of Jacob's Well?

Jacob's Well, located near Nablus in the West Bank, is historically and spiritually significant as the site where Jesus broke social barriers to reveal himself as the Messiah to a Samaritan woman (John 4). It symbolises the offering of "living water" or eternal life, representing a shift from ritualistic faith to spiritual, universal salvation. 

Biblical Significance (John 4): Jesus met a Samaritan woman at this well, a significant act that defied traditional Jewish-Samaritan animosity and the gender norms of the time.

The "Living Water" Metaphor: Jesus used the physical Well to contrast temporary physical hydration with the "living water" of spiritual, eternal life he offered, establishing the Well as a symbol of divine provision.
