If a woman pastor married my wife and me, is this considered acceptable in God's eyes?

Since Scripture declares that women cannot be pastors or preachers, is my marriage "legal" in the eyes of God, since it was done by a woman in the Methodist Church? The same could be said of any denomination who ordains women to preach and teach. Am I living in sin?

1 Timothy 2:11 - 12

ESV - 11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

Let's assume, for the sake of debate, that God doesn't want females preaching to and teaching the people who He calls His(1Tim 2:12). Let's assume He wants only men to tell of His goodness and grace, that if a woman stands in the congregation and gives Him praise He will be somehow offended. That's hard for me to fathom, but I'll give it a shot. I don't understand that scripture to be a new rule issued to the church by Paul. It's as if Moses gave the people the old law and Paul has given them the new one. It wasn't meant to be a rule to be followed by the church until the Lord's return. But, Let's assume.

God doesn't issue marriage licenses. God doesn't issue minister licences. The state issues both. The state issues licenses to ministers of cults and other such false religions. When the minister of a cult performs a marriage ceremony is the marriage acceptable to God, or is only marriages performed by a male Christian minister acceptable? Also, what if the minister who performs the ceremony is backslidden and not in good standing with the Lord. Is the marriage acceptable to God or is it not? Can a minister who has had a divorce perform an acceptable marriage ceremony to God? Is there anything that disqualifies a male minister from performing acceptable marriage ceremonies or are they grandfathered in because of their gender?

What if you found out that the minister who performed your marriage ceremony was married and involved with another woman at the time of your marriage, would you question the veracity of your marriage and whether God approved of It?

Marriage is approved or disapproved of by the state.

There was a time when men and women married their close relatives. Did God approve or disapprove? It was a people custom. God put a stop to it, but we know that He doesn't change Mal 3:6. There are still people who will marry a relative if they can get away with it. They fool the state, not God.

There are now in the USA legal same-sex marriages. How did this happen? Did God change His mind again? No, but the state did. If God doesn't approve it wont change the legality of the marriage. It is a people custom.

I was married over 43 years ago by a Justice of the Peace. There were then, and maybe still now, those who said that Faye and I were not married in God's eyes, that a minister had to marry us. I don't know what bible they got that from so I don't give it any thought. But what if the Justice of the Peace had been a woman, would we be disapproved of God?

And what about the captain of a ship? Should they be male only in performing marriage ceremonies? And with the sex change craze that's spreading we might have to start doing background checks before choosing an official.

I'm glad I know the Lord for myself and not according to tradition. The church I grew up in taught all sorts of nonsense myths passed down by well-meaning people who viewed the Bible as you would an employer's rules handbook to it's employees.

Be diligent to show yourself as an approved workman to God with no need to be ashamed, who rightly understands the word of God 2 Tim 2:15.
