Why did Joshua make the Israelites rest for three days after arriving at Sittin?
Joshua 3:1
ESV - 1 Then Joshua rose early in the morning and they set out from Shittim. And they came to the Jordan, he and all the people of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.

If Joshua’s life is an Old Testament occurance that points to Jesus (christophany), and crossing over the Jordan river (the river stops flowing at the city of Adam and into the Dead Sea) is a symbol of salvation (when the guys carrying ark, which housed the presence of God, stepped in the water, everything that flowed from Adam stopped and flowed down to the Dead Sea), then possibly the three days waiting time mentioned in Joshua 1:11 is symbolic to Jesus being in the grave, then rising on the third day (our salvation) just as the Israelites under Joshua waited three days then on the third (I assume) they crossed over into their salvation, the promised land. Might be a stretch, but that’s what I got.
