I would say that sins that one has confessed and sought forgiveness of in Jesus' name will not cause us to be condemned eternally by God or to lose our salvation, as shown by verses such as Psalm 103:12 and Jeremiah 31:34 (as applied to Christians by Hebrews 8:12).

However, as was the case, for example, with regard to David's sin with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11-12), there may still be temporal consequences or judgments that may result (even though David was also told that God had put away his sin, and that he would not face eternal separation from God because of it). For David, these included (as foretold to David by Nathan the prophet in 2 Samuel 12:10-14) the death of David's first son with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 12:18), and Absalom's rebellion against David (2 Samuel 15-18).
