One might wisely pray for the political or "corporate" organized leaders of the gay community, who make it plain that they are not so much about protecting members as being about assertion on society. Not unlike some hostile entities in our world today, the gay political leadership indicate that they wish to dominate with their lifestyle and are very much for the reversal and removal of the traditional marriage and mating mores. In that respect, LGBTQ persons are not particularly cared about by their organized leaders in general. It falls to the church to demonstrate the love and grace of Jesus, along with his pathway of deliverance.

As for personal ministry, one is reminded that neighbor has a connotation of "nearby" and the Holy Spirit arranges and helps in such contacts. It would be good to have the insights of those specifically called and empowered to minister to this community. Light is huge in showing where things are and seeing past and into areas, rather than just meaning well, but a bit at a loss to relate for lack of awareness of what's going on with the person. Pray for leading concerning whose book or what ministry has Godly wisdom and strength in this area, and avail yourself of their insights and experience.

There is a strong pull with this style of life and not the easiest one to come out of. The admonition to minister in twos would seem appropriate in this case. There are ministers who have themselves succumbed in solo counseling sessions. Have your church's prayer cover and pray concerning your own specific leading. Be armed with the Word's identification of the mindset and practice, its spiritual tools and preparation, along with its loving redemptive response.
