I believe your "old man" or your old way of life is all bad habits. The way you once acted, talked, ate, related to people and lived your life. Eph. 4:22-25: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speaking every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. Be blessed.

My opinion is that we need to make 2 good habits: "Make praise your habit." (Psalm 64:10) and "Form the habit of justice." (Psalm 106:3) On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And how long it takes a new habit to form can vary widely depending on the behavior, the person, and the circumstances. In Lally's study, it took anywhere from 18 days to 254 days for people to form a new habit. --James Clear
