What does "Let not your good be spoken of as evil" mean in Romans 14:16?

I believe some take this out of context often. The way that I have mostly heard this used: When someone is doing something that they shouldn't be doing or is perceived to be doing. Someone may use this verse to tell them not to let their name be slandered. In my opinion that is taking this out of context.
