Who is God talking to in Ezek 34:25-31?
Ezekiel 34:25 - 31
NKJV - 25 I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. 26 I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.

God is talking about making a covenant of peace with the people of Israel. The previous verses particularly verse 23 to 24 talk of a Messiah of the line of David who will fulfill this covenant. Ezekiel 34:23-24 And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. I am the Lord; I have spoken.

This is an extremely interesting question! (I say so because the passage cited contains one of my most favorite Bible memory verses, Ezek 34:26) The context reveals that the false shepherds in Ezekiel 34:1-8, 18-19 feed and water themselves and ignore their flocks (Eze 34:1-3, 18-19). These were the leaders of the nation of Israel. Kings and officers in government were referred to as “shepherds” (2 Sam. 7:7-8; Ps. 78:70-71; Isa. 56:10-11; 63:11; Jer. 23:9-11; 25:18-19). But true leaders don’t exploit their people—they sacrifice for them. Jesus the Shepherd set the example by laying down His life for His flock (John 10:10). This faithful Shepherd is doubtless the Messiah Himself, Jesus Christ! WW & HW
