The question is: What was early Christianity like?

It was nothing like what Christendom presents today as the gospel. If the apostle Paul went in to a church in Christendom today and preached what he preached in the time of his commissioned ministry, they would throw him out, telling him he was preaching a false Christ and a false God.... We need to get back to "sola scripturea" in reality and reject the traditions of men that have developed since the second century. Let us remember the word of the apostle Paul as he warned those he spoke to and all of us these words:

Acts 20: 28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the holy spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

This was happening right at the end of Paul's ministry and has continued on down to the present time. 

Notice that what Paul warned believer's about was already happening toward the end of his ministry:

2 Timothy 1:15 This know you, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me.......;

2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now let [holds back] will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Jude's warning needs to be heeded today:

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

We need to learn what is means to deny the only Lord God - Yehovah and what it means to deny our lord Jesus the anointed one! Only the scriptures can provide the answer. Reject any testimony that comes from men and cannot be proved simply and directly from the scriptures and you will begin to follow the narrow path that leads to deliverance into the coming Kingdom of God, life in the new age as a new creation in the lord Jesus! May that day soon come!

The History of early Christianity would take a book to show all the details and all individual that were responsible to make it happen after Jesus Christ assented into Heaven after 40 days on earth after He was resurrected from the grave.

All his Diciples and followers during his 3 year ministry on earth were Jewish and He was also Jewish. He chose His Diciples because He knew them all, as He was a man as well as God. The Bible says that a Roman Centurian and his family were converts that were not Jewish. Also the first European convert was Lydia of Thyatira.

The followers of Jesus were just known as the Followers of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It was later at Antioch that they started calling them Christians, for they followed the teachings of the Living Jesus (Read the resurrection story).

The Holy Spirit had come into Elizabeth womb when she was talking to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and John (the Baptist) received the Holy Spirit in her womb. John the Baptist told the people that Jesus (one greater than he would come and baptist with the Spirit).

Jesus had told the Diciples that when He left, He would send a helper (Holy Spirit) to guide them. See Acts 2. It is interesting to know that when the Holy Spirit came and Peter preached to the people of Jerusalem that were there for the Pass Over Festival (See the Book of Acts) people heard the message in their own language and 3,000 people were added to their numbers.

Acts chapter 9, Saul, a Jew, but a Roman Citizen was converted and Jesus changed his name to Paul to take the Gospel to the Gentiles.

I touched on some important events for the early Church which members were being persecuted by the power of the time, Romans and also the Religious leaders of Israel. Most of the Disciples were either killed or imprisoned. Although the Holy Spirit used them to spread the Gospel to the whole Roman Empire.

The New Testament Books are the early history of the church (the Church is the believers and not the buildings). When you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to live in you and teaches you all spiritual things. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is God. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life and the only way to Eternal Life.
