The Bible is clear that we will be like the Angels in Heaven. Our minds will be sealed with God's promise of living with him forever with no more sin. Satan and his demons will be destroyed in fire, and never will sin emerge again. It is simple that we will be set free from ever having evil thoughts to enter into Gods kingdom. God will not test us again like he did Adam and Eve knowing they did have free will. In heaven, our will is to complete eternal glory to God. This is a simple analogy: if a person had cancer and was healed from their sickness would they want it to return? We have been set free from sin made into new creatures ready for the glory of God's promises.

The question presupposes that just now on the earth we have free will. Our Lord in John 8:34 said that everyone that sin is the slave of sin. This means at present anyone not born again is not free. This person can only do unrighteous things. This person is unable to do righteous things. So the question should have been, Will we have free will in heaven? And the straightforward answer is emphatic Yes. Many a time when we think of sinning people feel as if it is a matter of free will and bravery. People ask, can I sin, as if strength is needed to sin. People ask, could Jesus have fallen in sin. According to this question the sinlessness of Jesus makes Him weak, because he could not sin. But the fact is that our Lord was so strong that He did not fall in sin. The Luke 16 chapter talks about true riches and false riches. The riches that we have here on earth is described by three words, least, unrighteous, and another man's (vs. 10, 11, and 12). But the riches that we will receive in heaven will be opposite of them, much, true and your own. Look at the same verses. Much here means plentiful and unlimited, true means that which will remain permanently and your own means we will have freedom to do whatever we like to do with that riches. Sinning takes place when there is a commandment. Only in the presence of commandment its violation can take place. Read here Paul's argument in Romans ch. 5-7. God says in Rev. 21:7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son." So what a believer is going to individually inherit is God's eternity. Second thing is that that believer will as God's son become equal to God, inheriting all godlikeness; as 1 Jn. 3:2 reveals that we will be like Jesus. Adam's godlikeness was the result of disobedience (Gen. 3:22), but our godlikeness will be by the result of already accomplished obedience of our Lord (Phil. 2:6-11). All these things tell us that we will enjoy complete freedom without any restriction or commandment. Sin is a matter of this earthly life only. In hell people will be free from righteousness and in heaven believers will be free from unrighteousness. Science tells us that nothing can travel faster than light. But the Bible tells us that spirit is instantaneous. In 1 Cor. 15:52 it reveals that we will pass from limits of physical to the limitlessness of spirit instantaneously. Just think, traveling from one galaxy to another will be instantaneous. And all these will belong to the believers. As per the 1 Cor. 15:28, and see also 3:9 here, we will be coworker with God in godding (this word is not in the dictionary) the universe. In this kind of life as it is impossible for God to sin so it will be impossible for us to sin, because there will be no occasion or cause for sinning. In freedom no occasion for sinning. So the original question's answer is that yes we will have true free will of God. That is part of our inheritance.

The question is "do we still have free will in heaven?" Answer: Why? Jesus said the meek shall inherit the earth/world. Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. There is no place in the scripture that says we go to heaven when we die. It does say we will rule as kings and priests, on this earth with the lord Jesus during his 1,000 year rule on this earth. Re 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And yes Jesus said at that time we will be as the angels in heaven, but on this earth. Luke 20:34-36: And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. And yes at that time we will as glorified immortal beings have free will as members of the Kingdom of God, even as the angels have free will. If the angels did not have free will Satan would not have been able to rebel against God and all the angels that joined him in that rebellion. Look at what we will be doing with the lord Jesus when he comes to take up his rule at Jerusalem at his second coming: Zech 14: read the whole chapter. Also Daniel 7:27: And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. What an amazing future we have in the lord Jesus the Messiah, who will rule over all the nations from Jerusalem.

What I am thinking of, and could become the basis of my opinion, is, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. From his birth, mission, death, and resurrection Jesus did all what His Father told Him to do. The same case with the Holy Spirit who has been doing what He heard from the Father in Heaven. Jesus as a true man, incarnate by the Holy Spirit through Mary, having free will inherent to a man, did not use it but to do the will of His Heavenly Father which immaculate obedience makes Him perfect to the glory of God the Father. Our qualification to become like angels in heaven in due time will be based solely to the perfect obedience to the decrees given by Jesus for us to follow. Although we are given free will here on earth God wants us to follow His will or else we will not become heirs and heiress. We are trained or honed here on earth to conform our will to the will of God so that when we become rulers under Jesus' reign we will only do what He wants us to do. We will have the same will with that of Jesus' as Jesus has the same will with that of the Heavenly Father. In other words, we will all have one united will. There are no more options/choices in God's earthly kingdom; sin and darkness are totally absent. We only have to do the godly. So be it.
