Why is it men are still to be judged on the second coming when the Bible says we are saved by grace?

Christians ARE saved entirely by grace through faith, and, as a result, their names are written in the Book of Life. Although they will be included in the judgment at the Second Coming, the perfect righteousness of Christ will be imputed to them in that judgment because of their faith, and they will therefore be granted eternal life with God.

Those whose names are not written in the Book of Life will be judged according to the record of their earthly lives, which (apart from Christ) will not have attained the holiness that God demands in order to abide in His presence. They will therefore be condemned to separation from God.

Christians will also be judged with respect to what they built through their works on the foundation of their salvation (that is, their faith in Christ) during their earthly lives, as a basis for receiving eternal rewards from God. But that judgment will not take their salvation away from them (1 Corinthians 3:11-15).

On the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ every one will be subjected to judgement. This is the time when those who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior will have a mark (a seal) that will act as a visa to paradise.

When we are saved by Grace, it is not by default. We have to actively respond by accepting that Grace consciously! We have freedom to accept the gift of salvation or reject it!

Men at the judgment will be in three categories. There will be firstly those that refused to obey the Gospel and knew not God. They will go for ever into the lake of fire. Secondly there will be apostate Christians who had been blotted out of the Lamb's book of life for not continuing in God's grace they also will go into the lake of fire. Finally there will be those faithful Christians that endured to the very end of their lives, remaining in Christ to receive joyful rewards or no rewards for their deeds done in the body..
