Who makes up the armies in heaven, as mentioned in Revelation 19:14?
They are "clothed in fine linen, white and clean". Does this army then include the redeemed in Christ?

✿ The armies in Heaven include all the redeemed and resurrected saints of all ages and all the angels of heaven (Rev. 19:14; Mt. 24:29-31 2Th. 2:7-10 Jude 1: 14-15 Zech. 14:5; Joel 2:1-11). Hope that helps.

This is an interesting question, Murray Roulstone! The angels in part (Matt. 25:31; 2 Thessalonians 1:7 -- "and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels"), but also the saints (1 Thess. 3:13; 2 Thessalonians 1:10). The same scene is found in Jude 1:14-15. “14 It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, ‘Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.’" The word "saints" means “holy ones” and could refer to believers or angels.

In my opinion, this final battle between the armies of the beast and the armies of heaven comes at the end of the times of the Gentiles. Besides Rev. 19:14, the battle and prior events are described with the sixth trumpet, Rev. 9:13-21 through Rev 10:14. Verse 10: 6 announces the formal end of the times of the gentiles. It is with the 7th trumpet that the rewards for the saints and redeemed are given, Rev 11:9. These rewards are indicated for the seven churches in Rev 2 and 3. The armies in heaven in Rev 19:14 are composed of warrior angels only, not the saints, since they haven't yet been given their rewards. At that point they are patiently waiting as described in Rev 6:9-11, under the fifth seal. The saints were at war on earth, not heaven, where they will rest until they receive their rewards Simultaneously with the armies in heaven,the armies of the kings of the east are also battling the beast and his armies. This is described in Rev 9:13-21. There is a certain parallel here between the armies of heaven fighting against the beast, and the Israelites crossing the Red Sea. At that time, Ex 14: 21-28, the LORD troubled the Egyptians and took off their chariot wheels so that none escaped when the waters returned. No Israelites fought against the Egyptian army.
