John 15:3
[3]Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

It's through the word of The Most High not the water of Baptism.

There are two accounts concerning Paul’s conversion. The first account is being told by someone. But the second account is told by Paul himself. Paul’s account is in Acts 22. He was told to rise and be baptized and wash away his sins, calling on the name of the Lord. This is the true baptism that takes away your sin. Read chapter 22 and see for yourself.

Our sins were taken when Christ shed His blood at the cross. Our belief in this is when we are baptized into the body of Christ and by the Spirit Himself, not man with water.

Eph 4:5
"One Lord, one faith, one baptism,"

Acts 18:24-26
"And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly."

1 Cor 1:17
"For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect."

1 Tim 1:16
"Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting."

If Christ did not send Paul to baptize, and Paul is to be our "pattern", who then was commissioned to perform water baptisms since Paul's ministry? Even Peter states that it is not about the baptism that only cleanses "the filth":

1 Peter 3:21
"The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"
