This whole pet thing has just got so out of hand. People these days seem to put more concern on animal life than human life.

God has ordained that man has dominion over all of his creation, so taking the life of a pet should not be an issue since you may be alleviating it of pain and suffering.

I was raised by several generations of farmers and when a pet or farm animal was suffering, we would shoot the animal to alleviate its misery, and then eat or feed other of God's many creatures, or bury it. Even the vultures need to eat and were created by God to be nature's garbage disposal.

Animals do not have souls, and according to scripture there are other types of creatures in heaven that will probably surpass relationships that we now enjoy here on earth.

Spending exorbitant amounts of money on a pet to me is shameful when there is so much human suffering going on here on earth.

That money could be well spent feeding the hungry or helping the persecuted, the helpless of humanity, the elderly, widows and orphans, let alone countless children in need of operations. The list is endless, so lets practice balance in our costs of loving our pets.

The old testament scriptures do discuss treating our pets and farm animals humanely, and that includes the wisdom to know if you can afford the cost of that pets care or not.
