2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that "all Scripture is given by inspiration of GOD" (NKJV) but that cannot be said of the notes and comments given in any study Bible, no matter who authored/edited it.
Personally, I do not want to be influenced in my thinking by anyone except the Holy Spirit. In my personal Bible studies, I use a concordance, dictionary and prayer, always remembering what is said in 2 Timothy 2:15, " Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
I disagree with some of the non-christmatic and non-pentacostol opinions on the Dakes study bible. In my life time, I have worn out two Dake's study bibles. I am 64, an elder, and have my pastoral licence. I have learned more understand of the manifestions of spiritual gifts when they have manifested as the spirit of God wills than from any other study bible. There is no more prophetic study bible available than the Dakes. Dakes was called to be a walking bible.
