I met with two ladies once a week for six months and they led me through theophostic praying, inviting God into our time. For me, it was difficult, and it was wonderful. But at the end of the six months, I knew God loved me, and my love for Him grew. I learned that God speaks in a variety of ways, and that truth is indeed what sets you free. I suppose I was fortunate in that I was not led down an unbiblical path. I think that theophostic prayer accomplished in six months what almost twenty years of counseling hadn't. I, in turn, was able to help another young lady.
I am very grateful for how God used theophostic prayer in my life, but I can also see why someone might want to be cautious before going that route.
