Jesus love in the true biblical sense is the same type of love that we should try to imitate; Agape Love.

I John 3: 16-20; This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

In a classroom poll, conducted in two American introductory psychology classes of over 250 students each, the first five types of love as defined by the Greeks were all familiar to over 80% of the students from their personal experience (their own relationships or people they knew). However, less than 10% of students knew somebody who expressed agape love.

Agape love as defined by the Ancient Greeks is based on an unconditional love practiced by an individual who is willing to sacrifice anything for their brothers or sisters in Christ. It is based on an unbreakable commitment and an unconditional, selfless love. 

Receiving the Holy Spirit from God through baptism begins your declaration of agape love. Philia love and its affiliate "storge" may also be combined with agape love. These two terms represent friendship, deep camaraderie, exhibiting loyalty, sacrificing yourself to all (as Christ), sharing your emotions and confessing your sins to them (one with another as commanded). In this way we become like Christ and then to become more like God (who is love) by attaining the mature love known as pragma, or longstanding love. This love is related to the deep understanding that develops between long-married couples who have exercised compromise, patience and tolerance. 

Of the six types of love we should adhere to agape, philia and pragma. The other three are eros; sexual passion, ludus or playful love and phillautia/mania also known as love of or for self. All of these definitions related to "love" are important to understand and each has its own time and place; eros love in a Christian relationship is restricted to marriage. Any other sexual relationship outside of marriage is defined by the Bible as fornication. 

So, lets honor God and love one another as Christ loved us.
