Is there anywhere in Scripture where it is stated that Jesus would/might (or would not) appear in bodily form to people in the present age (that would apply to today's world)?

Acts 1:9 "As He said this He was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took Him from their sight. They were still staring into the sky as He went when suddenly two men in white were standing beside them and they said. 'Why are you Galileans standing here looking into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way you have seen Him go to heaven."

Zechariah 14:4 "When that day comes, His feet will rest on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives will be split in half from the east to west, forming a huge valley; half the Mount will recede northwards, the other half southward."

New Jerusalem Bible. I believe it says what it means and it means what it says!

When I read this Scripture, I do not see that he will return bodily. I see that it says he will come back the way he went which was in a cloud. A cloud is the way God appeared to the Israelites. Scripture says the Great Day of the Lord, the coming of the Lord, coming in a cloud. These were in judgement! Has anyone else considered this?
