It is hard for an unsaved psychologist to understand the things of God. Most don't read the bible, nor understand the things of God. When a person comes to them saying, "I'm hearing voices." Their automatic inclination is to prescribe them with medication, which only worsen the problem, not solve it. The best solution for someone dealing with voices in their head would not be to seek the help of man, but to get on their knees before God and ask Him to remove the spirits attempting to oppress them in the name of Jesus Christ. Surely, that is a prayer that God will answer.

I have Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder. I have been told by the clergy and other Christians it’s the devil.

After diagnosis from several psychiatrists and psychologists I now know that these disorders are the result of a chemical imbalance, genetics; and a strict, close-minded religious upbringing. Therefore based on the hellfire and damnation I’ve been taught, I refuse to attend church.

Perhaps it’s time for the church to do some research to find the facts instead of preaching hell fire and damnation.

Well said James M. It is sad that many remain lost due to the lack of receiving and understanding today's gospel of God's grace as given to our apostle Paul.

I hope you have found peace, as I have, knowing that God forgave us of all our sins through the death of Jesus Christ (2 Cor 5:19). Our belief in this, the gospel of Christ crucified (1 Cor 15:1-4), is the only requirement for salvation today. Our faith alone in Jesus Christ completing the work and paying the price on the cross on our behalf makes us the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor 5:21).

THIS is the good news for us today! There is no wrath from God on those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ and nothing of themselves (1 Thes 5:9). It is indeed the free gift of God (Eph 2:8).

Share the good news with others you know who may still feel lost, confused, or without hope (Eph 2:12)! Peace and grace to you!
