The Holy Bible does not recognize the two men crucified with Christ. Their names were never told; however, they do represent the choices of every man, woman and child on this world. As we read in the Bible, one chooses to call to the Lord Jesus Christ, while the other chooses to mock and insult our Savior. Luke tells in Chapter 23 that "And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. In addition, when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Luke 23:39-41 also says, "One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: 'Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!' However, the other criminal rebuked him. 'Don't you fear God,' he said, 'since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."

Reading further in Luke: 23:42, Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Without hesitation, Jesus responded to his plea for mercy in Luke 23:43, "Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

Jesus gave us an awesome lesson in forgiveness while he hung there on the cruel cross of Calvary suffering for us, dying for us. We like those two thieves are as good as dead, we have no chance for salvation if we are in apart from Jesus for He says in John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The good news is that the example of the two thieves crucified next to Jesus is that it is NEVER TOO LATE to repent and ask the Lord to accept us. It is never too late to repent, and to announce your faith in Jesus.

If other sources give names to these men, I am doubtful about their reliability. All the Glory and Praise to our Lord, God Almighty!
