Spiritual deception is believing any other way to be saved, than what Jesus did for us on the cross. The bible says we are all sinners. The bible says Jesus came to pay the penalty for all sin if we put our faith and trust in Him, and Him alone to save us.

Once we have trusted Jesus to save us. We are given His righteousness, and our sins can no more be imputed to our account. Romans 4:1-8 Jesus said many will try to climb up some other way.

Some will try to earn salvation by their own works. Matthew 7:21-23 We can not be saved by keeping Gods laws and commandments, because we have a sinful nature. When we trust Jesus to save us all our sins are paid for and we are no longer under the law but under grace. If there is no law sin can not be imputed to us. The law was given to show us we are sinners, to bring us to Christ for salvation by grace.

When we trust Jesus to save us we are given eternal life, because salvation is without works. It is a free gift of God. We are justified sinners by faith alone. Romans 4:5 But to the one that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

We are born into the family of God by faith alone in what Jesus has done for us on the cross where He took all of our sins.

Deception is believing there is any other way to be saved, than what Jesus did for us on the cross.

Satan has devised many ways to keep us from just believing the gospel to be saved.

Satan says, if we repent of our sins we will be saved. Lie.

Satan says, if we quit sinning we will be saved. Lie

Satan says, If we invite Jesus into our hearts we will be saved. Lie

Satan says, if we make Jesus Lord of our life we will be saved. Lie

Satan says if we follow Jesus we will be saved. Lie.

Satan says if we obey Gods laws and commandments we will be saved. Lie

There is only one way to be saved, and that is to believe that Jesus paid for all our sin debt and gives us eternal life. The gospel that we are to believe to be saved is in First Corinthians 15:1-4 That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures. All we have to do to be saved is believe the gospel to be saved.

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, (the free gift of salvation by grace) to them gave He power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on His name. Once we have trusted Jesus alone to save us we are a child of God forever because our relationship never changes.

When we were born of water by our own mother and father, our relationship never changes. They are our mother and father forever. When we are born into the family of God by faith alone. We become a child of God, and that relationship never changes.

Whether we are obedient or disobedient, God is still our Father. We are given eternal life when we first believed the gospel.

There is only one way to be saved, it is to believe the gospel. That all our sins have been paid for and we are given the righteousness of Christ. Once we have believed it we are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise that says I will never leave you or forsake you no matter what.

We are saved totally by grace, what Jesus did for us, apart from any works.

So the best way to keep from deception, is to know the truth. Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

We are saved the minute we trust Jesus as our savior, other wise it would be by works, what we do or do not do and we can not be saved by what we do. Every one who has trusted Jesus alone is saved and has eternal life now. Without eternal life we are not saved.

Matthew 7:15-23 tells us how to tell false teachers.
